I haven't used that particular site, but for my recent trip to Paris, I booked a room in the Royal Phare Hotel through the hotel's website, and everything worked out great. The rooms are a little tiny though, and there is no AC.

I haven't personally rented an apartment from them but they advertise on the Slow Travel website which is a good sign and I find positive comments about them on various other travel forums.
