Don't!!!!!! My neighbor's sister and uncle were attacked in Cancun by armed bandit? They lost cameras and cash. They didn't bother to report it to the police because they strongly believed that the criminals are in cahoots with the police. Avoid Mexico for your sake!!!!! It's out of control. Police are corrupt.

  1. I find your statement very offensive.  A blanket statment like this, is just the same as me saying you'll run into more trouble in the United States than you ever would in Mexico..which is more likely.

Please stay at home.  Igorance like yours is not welcome here in Mexico.

  2. Everywhere has its own safety issues, you just have to be aware of what your doing and where you are.  I've been to Mexico lots of times with no problems.

  3. That is very offensive. I've traveled to Mexico a lot of times, and have never been in any sort of trouble. It's a great place to visit with many things to do, and if that did happen to your friends I wouldn't blame a country or a group of people.

  4. Dear concerned citizen,

I have been to Mexico many times. We have never been attacked, robbed, yelled at or cursed at.

It's not fair to slander the whole country over a very unfortunate attack. They should have reported the attack regardless.

I have read about Americans being targeted and robbed on Mexico's Baja California Peninsula.

I'm not blaming the victims but most people go on vacation and forget they are going to a third world country and they don't take the necessary precautions. Be aware of your surroundings at all times just like at home in the states. While out and about stay with crowds of people. I'm not going to lecture because I don't know the whole story about your neighbors but it is very upsetting to hear about these attacks.

Here is the article about the crimes.

Most of the people of Mexico are hard working people. I also have heard stories about the police)

  5. Its unfortunate that your friends were robbed, but blaming the whole nation of Mexico is unfair to the fine people who work in the tourism industry. Not all police are corrupt and the president of Mexico and border state governors are trying to correct the problems.

  6. I agree check this link out!

  7. Blame the person, not the country or race.

People get mugged in the US every hour of every day...so are you gonna tell me not to live here?? NO.

  8. You are more likely to be robbed in n.y.c. than in mexico....you were either very foolish or very unfortunate
