Has anyone volunteered with the charity L'Arche? What did you think of it?

Almost 20 years ago I stayed in South France with them, in an ancient Abbey. They were very nice people, open to all creeds, (each day of the week a different ritual for a different religion), you can stay in exchange of work, what I think is fair for what you get. I wouldn't live there, but it's OK for a short stay. Many people live there with their families, some work in the community and some outside. I'll would give it a try.
