Has anyone went back to college after taking several years off?

I went to college immediately after I finished high school. I went for five years bouncing around between majors and never really took it seriously. I finished with no degree and a 2.07 GPA. Though it's pretty pathetic, my GPA is still good enough to transfer my credits to another school. Next Fall I want to return for the Fall 2009 semester and try to finish. The last semester I attended was Spring 2005. Has anyone else out there returned to college after taking quite a bit of time off and/or after having a pretty bad experience the first time around?

  1. I did!

I had 12 credits left to graduate but decided to take some time off and raise my son. I went back when he was 5 and finally finished!

I found that it was better and since I was determined to graduate, I took the time to get good grades.

If you are determined to go back and graduate, and since you'll be in your senior year, you will probably do just fine.  You will be taking the classes you're interested in, to finish and you won't have to sit through all those Introduction classes.  That's what makes college great, actually being able to finally take those classes you're interested in and being done with all those basic requirement classes!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  2. I graduated high school, had a 2 week summer and started Summer classes right away.  I ended up leaving.  5 years later Im back as a full time Nursing Student and could not be happier.  I hated college the first time.  My parents kinda made me go lol, and I did not enjoy anything.
