  1. bryman college is good i heard. learn more at PureMedicalJobs.com

  2. My cousin went to school for medical billing (and coding) but just got laid off from her job of five years as a biller.  There aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the medical biller or coder (or medical assistant) despite what those private $$ schools say.  They all promise job placement but it's really just to get the student to sign up between us and the wall ;)  There are so many schools that offer medical billing and coding and not enough vacancies for the graduates.

Medical coders usually need a few years experience doing coding tasks as well as certification(s) and from an accredited program to possibly land a job.

If still wanting training, please look at the more affordable county vo-tech school or community college, perhaps non-credit course, as long as it's accredited within the industry.

  3. I went to a community college for health information management -- which includes coding, transcription, and managing medical records.

It was around $1,500/semester on average, so $6,000 for a 2-year degree.

There is great job placement! I got a job right after graduation!
