I had cataract 2 months ago and my pupils are still big, not completely dilated but still bigger than the none surgery eye.

  1. Are you still taking any drops that can have an effect on pupil size?

Also, it's possible that the pupil got stretched a little during surgery --- it happens on occasion. If so, it won't return back. At the office I work at, our patient consent forms for cataract surgery mentions that this is a possibility.

    Possibly you already know this:

The pupil is actually not a seperate little part of the eye (I used to think so) -- it's only a hole in your iris. So your iris has this big opening and they call the opening the pupil. Doctors with magnifiers can see to the back of your eye by looking thru this opening.

Though the drs don't perfom surgery thru this opening (it would scar your cornea), sometimes the iris can be stretched, causing the opening to become larger.

If it is any of the above, it won't hurt your eye. It's just cosmetic.
