Has anyone worked as an insurance agaent for any company. I am about to work for Farmers? Heard anything?

You have to get your own customers.  That means knocking on doors and cold calling in the evening and weekends.

I heard Farmers Insurance treats their agents terribly.  High turnover etc

I worked for Farmers for about 2 months and moved on.  My boss (agency owner) was great as were all employess.  Did not like Farmers.  I came from working for an independent agent and went right back to it.  I prefer that to working for an exclusive agent any day.

It's a tough sales job. You need to play it like a game. Don't let it get personal - daily rejection is the norm.

The pay is great once you get your groove on though....

Finding your own leads is the hardest - they can be bought though. I reccommend reading the red book of sales for great ideas.
