  1. Yes - worked as a ski guide one winter years ago (small UK company).

The company did not explain that when they said I was to be "ski guide", they actually meant "general dogsbody, travel rep, pick up / drop off to airports and transfers, leading evening entertainment etc".

I naively thought I would get to ski all day but in actual fact - I was too busy working, leading pub crawls etc in the evening that I was too shattered to be able to enjoy the skiing during the day.

In summary - Yes - it is good being in the mountains for months and getting the chance to ski much more than usual.

However, it is very hard work, wages were shocking (though I got live in accomodation / meals).

Most jobs are badly paid and as the previous poster said, shops/ bars/ restaurants will not employ unless very fluent in french. So then you can be left with rubbish jobs with long hours and low salary (equating to less time to enjoy!).

Hope this helps and I wish you all the very if you go for it.

  2. Conditions and wages are terrible but the skiing is out of this world. Really only for ski bums. Without good French you get all the worst jobs.
