  1. I haven't worked directly with him, but I've heard a lot about him via "Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control".  He worked with Heather T. Forbes on that book, and I get Heather's daily parenting reflections.  That's about the extent of my knowledge of him.

I love the BCLC program because the point is that the parents have to be regulated, so that they can be emotionally stable when their kids AREN'T regulated.  They offer retreats (self-care for mom's and dad's - but it's expensive), as well as seminars, dvd's, books, etc.  Anything that teaches me how to help a hurting kid without hitting them is tops in my book.  I don't understand the thinking behind re-hurting a hurt kid, and expecting that to make it better.  As Einstein said, "Insanity is endlessly repeating the same process and hoping for a different result".

ETA:  Yep, I read it.  Again, my only knowledge of Bryan Post is his involvement in BCLC, which I like.  I don't have the money to work directly with him, so I won't ever have to worry about that.  However, I have heard many positive things about attachment therapy, and the methods Bryan uses.  I just haven't heard a lot about it directly in connection with Bryan himself.  I hesitate to judge his methods harshly because one family didn't like screaming out their frustrations on an air mattress.

  2. This says enough for me:

"On his Web site and printed materials, Post refers to himself as Dr. Post. He received a Ph.D. in social work in 2000 from Columbus University, an unaccredited "distance learning" institution located at the time in Louisiana. It has since relocated twice, to Mississippi and Alabama. Its Web site offers a doctorate in 12 months for $2,295.

Post is licensed as a social worker in Oklahoma but was reprimanded by the licensing board there in 2007 for unprofessional conduct regarding his degree claim. He was directed to include a disclaimer on his Web site and other materials making clear that his degree is from an unaccredited school."
