This is my first. She is 6 months old. About 1 month after she was born my knees and feet began to hurt so bad and only when I first get up out of bed or from sitting for a while. After a few minutes of walking the pain goes away. This is the only time it hurts. I walk her once a day about 1/2 mile and do great with that. It's just after I've been down for a while. I never had this before I had a baby, not even during my pregnancy. I gained 50 lbs (130-180), lost 20 of it when I came home from the hospital and have not lost another pound since but am just maintaining....grrrrr. Has anyone had this?

  1. any pain in joints, bones and most especially knees and legs after delivery indicates calcium deficiency.u can test it by eating calcium supplement for 2 days and u wont have any pain.

i am having similar problem.ihad my baby 3 months ago and after 1 month my kneesa and feet ache badly.my doc gave me calcium and it is going away.

  2. I had a lot of joint pain post-partum.  Lots of groin pain too.  I had it for a couple of months and it went away shortly after. I had a C-section. I gained 23 kg in pregnancy and had a whopper of a baby so I'm sure it took its toll on my poor joints.  Might pay to pop off to your doctor just to check everything is is order and I'm sure you'll feel less achy soon. Best wishes!

  3. baby is 13 days old and never had this.

    -this is my third child.

  4. Is it your feet? Or the back of your ankles?

First off I will say that you should see your doctor.

The reason for the pain probably stems off of the extra weight that you gained during pregnancy.  I as well gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy and have been stuck with about 25 more lbs to lose.  What type of shoes are you wearing during the day?  Are they supportive shoes?  My doctor advised me to stay away from flip flops and going barefoot.  Flip flops make your feet work harder to keep the shoe on.  Also, make sure you stretch your legs and ankles before getting up in the morning.  That will help them to warm up before putting pressure on them.
