Has attendance been down at your local dirt track?

At my local dirt track in Louisiana every week there are fewer cars and fewer fans, when I ask people about it their response always has something to do with gas prices. Race fuel is almost 8 dollars a gallon, not to mention the pump fuel used to pull a trailer.Thoughts?

  1. our track is closed...not because the cost of fuel..the board fired the promoter..and because if the board not wanting to work with the last few promoters no one is taking the job..and now we have no racing..but many are going elsewhere even farther away///

it seem like the new promoter  makes inprovements and gets attendence back up and then the board fires them...

  2. I haven't been, so YES, it has. Makes sense. Racers can't afford fuel back and forth to the track. They stay home. Less cars= less fun and less spectators. When will the madness end?

  3. At ours there is still a lot of cars but some Mods and Late Models are dropping out.  We have never had very many fans so its about the same slightly less.  Gas prices are effecting how many races we do and the prices of pit passes for family and crew!
