  1. Depends on how you look at it.

    Officially: Roddick is Highest Ranked American

         As far as the official Rankings go Roddick is currently ranked #8 and  Blake is currently Ranked #9.

    Opinions will Vary;

    It could be argued that Blake's performance in the Olympics makes him the best american player right now.  I think Blake is healthier at the moment and, depending on how they each play in the US Open, The official rankings could go either way.

    Personal opinion: ( and many will disagree): Andy Roddick is the best American player for now and the forseeable future.

    IN MY OPINION::: Roddick had an Awesome start to the year (won 2 titles and in the finals of a Masters event) until After Miami. (where he beat Federer.)  He has won77% of his matches played this year!  His injured shoulder has hampered his game since the French But I give him the best shot at staying in the top 10 for the long haul.

    He has all the weapons and now just needs to find his form.

    Don't get me wrong. Blake is an incredible player. ( Two runner up titles and Year to date He has won 69% of his matches) He could likely surpass Roddick in the rankings temporarily but it is Still debatable, for now, to call him the best american player.

    The reality is  that having them both on the US Davis Cup team is phenomenal!

  2. A difficult conclusion yet. We shall see how well Blake performs at the US Open. Roddick has had a bad year. I think Roddick might be an inch ahead of Blake right now, but close.

  3. Yes, I believe he has a better all round game than Andy. Better forehand, better movement, possibly better vollying. Ooo maybe I'm sure thats close. Andys got the better serve and better backhand. But Blake's had a better year than Andy so I think that makes him the better player right now. I'm sure in terms of history Roddick will go down as the better player unless James wins a slam. And thats bloody hard to do with Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer all hanging out in the top three.
