Question:

Has feminism become too much about abortion-rights to the exclusion of other issues?

It seems leading feminist leaders will line up behind whatever Democrat runs for office because the Democratic party is typically pro-choice. They do this while turning a blind eye to some pretty egregious behaviors by leading Democrats - Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy and their womanizing, Hillary Clinton and her enabling behavior. Supporting these kinds of candidates doesn't advance equal rights, or strengthen women, yet because of abortion rights, feminist groups like NOW continue to stand behind these kinds of candidates. Have feminists become too narrow-minded?

  1. It is our bodies and where are the men to help support the babies being born?

  2. I'm sorry...Bill Clinton getting his kicks with an intern falls pretty low on the alarm and importance scale when put up against the possibility of my government forcing women to use their bodies as incubators for unwanted fetuses.

  4. Read Citizen Girl

  5. Yes. But as you look back throughout History, The Feminist movement has never been a popular one on it;s own. They have to latch on to things to make people support them. (voting rights, abortion, etc.) Feminism has never done well standing alone. They need an emotional issue to draw people in.

  6. Nope.  I'm a feminist and vote Republican.  And I know several other feminist Republicans or Independents so I can't say I side with your opinion.

  7. your argument is flawed in that politicians are elected to pass legislation and such... not be our daily drama fix...

  8. Access to birth control is a privilege, feminists stamp their feet like spoiled children when it comes to their right to abort a fetus while millions of women can't get their hands on so much as an aspirin.
