With reports of major retailers (see The Drudge Report for details) in New York, parts of New England, and the West Coast limiting purchases of rice, flour and cooking oil, what will be next? What about rationing of non-food items...like Gasoline...no matter what you're willing to pay for a gallon.........will that be next?

  1. Amazingly, i heard about it all today too.

I dont know of any places around me, but still quite shocking.

    ._.

  2. Good question. With the food I have noticed that a few items seem to be disappearing from the shelves.Perhaps the cost of fuel and flour are putting a few businesses down or perhaps there was not a high number of people who like these few products so it may mean nothing.I think in general people are beginning to ration themselves a bit.Eat a little less.Restaurant portions are a bit smaller.Salad bars seem to be lacking some things that are a bit on the pricy side.I think the picture overall is changing. Gas is something I have to ration. I have cut down on visiting people and try hard to get everything in one trip usaully before or after work. After work if I need perishables.I havent noticed any rationing though and I think its very important to be optimistic.A bunch of panicking people is dangerous and doesnt solve anything.I think this is solvable.I mean once Bush is out of the whitehouse. Also we have oil in Texas, Oklahoma,Arkansas, and Pennsylvania plus other states Im sure.We have oil here in the USA we just need refinerys and politics to change.Remember Bush is an oil man he is getting rich while we suffer.

  3. I heard of that for the first time today. Pretty darn scary in my opinion. Not likely menu items of the rich is it? hmmmm....

What's next? Maybe pinto beans and potatoes?
