  1. Yes. A big mistake.

The club has still maintained it's policy of recruiting discarded older players from other clubs (now it's Essendon) while he has been there as coach.

If he had any knowledge he would have put an end to it & drafted more young players this year. Just look how Palmer & Ibbotson are going lately!

  2. no after all most of his list he inherated no coach can make the old young again

  3. I believe what is happening at Fremantle is the same thing that's happening at St Kilda...and even perhaps at Richmond and Carlton in previous years

The culture is not right...ie you have a group of senior players who run the club.

    They are not working cohesively

They are not working hard enough

They are not working for each other

Port was just as bad several weeks ago but I don't think anyone would class them in the same vein as the Dockers

Unlike the Eagles, they don't have the class onfield to hide the mess off-field

    .

  4. its not the coach he does not play the last quarter or any the dorkers will be fine next year the boys just have to play for each other and not for themselves

  5. He was given an aging list, look at what he has brought to the club, Mayne, Ibbottson, Palmer, that is the future of Freo. Give him a chance and see how he goes next season, Why do you think Connoly got the axe, he had an old list too and they were getting run off thier feet. At least this year there has been an injection of youth

  6. i don't think that the dockers made a mistake, its a tough gig for a coach, and at the end of the day, its the players that are on the field, and they have to take the responsibility as well. having said that i guess it would be hard when morale is down, and there is bugger all belief.

  7. Give him a chance I reckon, after all Freo aren't playing that bad, they just have to finish off in the last quarter.

  8. YES !!!!!!!!!!! Fire him and hire either Voss or Buckley

  9. He's ok.. they are not so bad, just struggling to get over the line. Once they get a win, I am sure that more will follow. Freo weren't so great last season so we can't really blame Harv's for that.

  10. Don't think so. Have a look at the ladder this week. Bottom 3 sides have new rookie coaches.!!!!

  11. Freo have made a big mistake in appointing Harvey.

The club was in such a state & has such an unstable culture they should have opted for an experienced coach. There were a few, mainly from Victoria, looking for jobs.

  12. I don't believe so he is a new coach and lets be honest apart from Pavlich, Farmer, Carr,Headland,Sandilands he doesn't have a great depth of talent give him at least another 1-2 seasons then ask the question

  13. no has to be like every other developing senior coaches. harvey joins the likes of knights, ratten and most likely soon to be michael voss! give them a chance they are only at their first-first one and half years! give them a break they have to learn all aspects of what is involved in coaching at the senior level of AFL footy!

  14. sheedy sould have came to the dockers not his apprentice

  15. You can't keep blaming the coaches.

The only justification in pointing the finger at them is coz they put up with under performing and inconsistent players.

  16. Yep they sure have....

  17. Macca's comments are spot on, it's definately the culture at the club. The Senior players including Pavlich, don't know how to take it to the next level ( finishing off the fourth quarter, going past the first game in finals ) I believe that all comes back to the leadership group on the ground from week to week. When the pressure is lifted, it's your Captain and leadership group that see the team clear, out on the ground. Mark Harvey will keep working away at this aspect of the Team, and I would assume that would mean continuing to look for new blood in that leadership group.
