Yes, I live two blocks from a beach and it does occasionally rain in Southern California.

Actually, no. I always check what the weather's going to be like before we go to the beach. So if it isn't hot and there's a big chance of rain, I don't go at all. Especially since it takes about 2 hours to get there. :(
