  1. All the time, as when my youngest son died. But, a voice always whispers back, "Why not?"

  2. Yes. It happens to everyone.

We are subject to the mere chance of misfortune. And there is nothing "mere" about it. There is an endless amount of suffering in the world, which is usually random.

All things are statistics: cancer, car accidents, divorce, abuse, death, etc.

We try to forget the probability of suffering with the possibilty of joy: winning the lottery, falling in love, winning the noble peace price ;)

You would avail yourself by viewing this world as a penal colony: a prison.

Live in compassion for others; after all, we are all suffering together. This is why love is powerful: love is not togetherness; it is two people sharing their loneliness together.

Life, in the long run, is disappointing. Don't get to down on inuring the probability of suffering or misfortune. These are the conditions of life.

When I was in middle school, I was reading my religion book and read the phrase (to the effect of) "To accept life is to accept suffering." I flung the book at my wall and through my faith down the drain.

While, to date, I am not religious, I do finally understand the phrase.

    Take care

  3. i have learned to ask "why NOT me?" i am no more special than the next person. how can i know that bad things happen to others but ask why they could happen to me?  ps i have weathered many difficulties in life and through them  i have learned lessons that i would never have known if not for that particular experiance. these are the things in life that allow you reach out to others with empathy and an ability to know how others might feel.

  4. yes, mostly at moments like this.

  5. Nope.  I do stop to think,"Why them?" a lot though.  Even though I don't have the greatest life, I could be one of those people who go through it oblivious to everything, running on autopilot.  I think having the little bit of awareness I do is something to be personally thankful for.

Saying "Why me" is sort of self indulgent if you think about it.  I don't mean that in a bad way but we are part of a bigger system here on this planet.  My problems could be a lot worse.

Wow, could I sound any more like a sappy t**d?

  6. I go with Ziggy on that question, "Why Not?" The answer is "because...."

  7. nope....I have faith in God...what ever it is..I know there is a reason...

  8. Yes, like when my house burned down on my birthday or when my mother spent my entire inheritance from my grandfather and I was not able to fight her legally due to lack of finances. Or when I left my husband because of an unhappy marriage and he became addicted to drugs and broke my daughter's heart. There are more situations but as I would ask myself 'why me', there would always be a voice inside my head which said-why not. These things have made me stronger. I wouldn't be who I am today and I truly like myself.

  9. yes when i get in serious trouble at school  get nervous and say to myself y me!!! lol

  10. lol that's funny cuz i was about to post a bulliten just like this....
