Has mildew destroyed my good handbags and shoes?

I really goofed and kept my good bags (including a Chanel) and shoes in a place to mildew. They smell really bad. I am taking them to the shoe repair tomorrow but I am soooo upset. Can they get most of the smell out?

well, i had a couple of things i left outside that had mildew and nold stains. i tried everything but nothing worked, until i went to the dollar store and bought mold and mildew remover, removed it so easily !!!

i can really understand that your are upset. i even had the same problem some month ago. it was awful. i think it is a good idea to bring your shoes to the shoe repair but you should not forget that you must combat the mildew as well. mildew needs damp to grow and you should combat this damp too. when i had this problem i searched and searched and i found an interesting web page.  i ordered one of the products and only in a short time the mildew problem was solved! i will give you the link and maybe it will help you as well.

Yes, the shoe repair place can get the majority of the smell out.....if you have any more problems, just toss the bags into the dryer on low with a few sheets of fabric softener.
