Question:

Has my eyesight stabalised now?

My eyes rapidly declined when I was around 11 to 16 and for the past four or five years it has increased by only -1.00 diopter.

I am now 21 and wondered if my eyes will get worse as my next eye exam is in two years time and I haven't noticed my eyes getting blurry or that I couldn't see through my glasses.

However, some text is very mildly blurred when I look at it, but not enough to need a new prescription i Hope.

  1. Do not stress your eyes in reading all you need to do is read a page and go over the contains of it in your mind , but i think that your eyes will get better ,there is nothing wrong with them

  2. It sounds like you and I have a common ancestor.  That's because we both have PROGRESSIVE MYOPIA.  This genetic type of near sightedness characteristically begins around age 8 to 9  (although, as in your case, it can begin earlier or later) and progressively gets worse (hence the term progressive myopia) until around age 18 to 20 when the progression tends to slow and usually stop completely.  Since you started a little later it may be that you are stabilizing a little later also.  BUT, you are pretty much following the expected course of progression so I would expect that you are going to be stabilizing any time now.  Hopefully, you will see far less change in your prescription from this point forward.
