This morning we got a letter from the rental office and it say: YOUR PATIO/BALCONY REALLY "BUZZES" US PLEASE REMOVE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: Bike THANK YOU MANAGEMENT. it's really bothering me because our balocony is not junky at all. We have two nice lounge chair, a little table, wind chime, and a bike. I want to call up there and ask them why the bike can't be there. I just looked over our lease and it says nothing about keeping a bike there. It does state there shouldn't be any broom mops and things of that nature kept on the balcony. So i went outside and just looked around and its all kinds of stuff on some of the tenants balconies. And a lot of the are messing. Should i call up there and ask why the bike can't be there or just forget it? I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it but why?

  1. Call them and explain your reasoning to them. It sounds stupid. I'd call them it'd be a good idea.

    -Good luck

  2. i say forget it, if they give you another, write f you acrossed it and leave it up or put it on there door.

  3. I think you should politely ask them about it.

That way they know there aren't going to be problems, but that you are concerned.

  4. Call if it isnt in the contract too bad 4 them

  5. well sounds like it might be from a neighbor who has a problem with the bike and might be sending these to all the neighbors.  I'd pop into the managment office and show them the letter.  Ask if they sent it.  It sounds unprofessional.

  6. perhaps they have picked you and your friend out as the next target to thow out as i don,t no the full story i cant really say and some neighbous get testey at the most silly thing,s perhaps somthing you said or even them  it can be on for young and old and sometime,s they just believe the other person over you so check go back in your mind,s eye and see were if anything said could have rilled up a certain person      wes,

  7. Give them a call and like you said just ask them why or what can you do to keep it there (i.e, put it on a stand or cover it with something).  If you think you are being signaled out make sure to note the other balconies that have different things out also, even though they might have gotten the same letter as you.  Good Luck.

  8. Yes, call them.

  9. Sounds like a personal preferance on their part.  Maybe they don't like you?  Regardless, if it states nothing on  your lease, don't worry too much about it.  But it could cause waves later for other issues, they might then have their eye on you.  It is up to you.  If it becomes a serious problem with them contact the landlord and tennant act where you live.  They should be able to advise.   Good Luck!

  10. i would call and complain about all the junk on the other tenents balonies and then explain that the least doesn't state that a bike cannot be there. it sounds to me like someone has complained about your bike...maybe there's someone that has a problem with you and is trying to p**s you off.

  11. Call and ask where it says a bike can't be on the balcony in the lease.

  12. Yeah, call them and ask.  If there is nothing in your lease about it bring that up as well.  Try to be polite, ("Hey, I got your notice, can you explain to my why I need to move my bike? I checked my lease and it doesn't mention that I can't keep my bike out there").  It seems really wierd that they would have a problem with that, I've never lived in an apartment complex where there WEREN'T bikes on balconies.
