Has pizza from national delivery chains gotten worse over the years or was it always terrible?

When I was a kid (20 yrs ago) I loved Domino's Pizza and ate it every chance I got. I remember it being really good. Now it just tastes awful - like all the ingredients are fake. Has it always been gross, and I just liked bad food when I was a kid, or have places like Domino's Pizza and Pizza Hut gotten worse over the years?

Just curious.

Thanks!

  1. Pizza delivery didn't used to be so ubiquitous. People used to actually go out and eat it. The downturn is attributable to the number that order today and the time it takes to get your pizza. If you are the first stop, then perhaps you will get a good hot pizza that tastes good. You also have to look at the restaurant. Domino's has been around for a while now and quality tends to go down over the years in the established chains. You might try a neighborhood pizza place that is less known or not a part of a franchise. Their livelihood depends on customer service and a quality product.

  2. they get worse and worse every year they are still good though but as years go they get less good

  3. it has gotten worse over the years. they seem to use a cheaper quality of ingredients. trying to save money and make a bigger profit.

  4. I think it's probably both the product and the staff or maybe your taste has changed and you don't like Pizza anymore.

  5. was always terrible...you develop taste over the years.
