i feel the same. 'the secret' is very very easily misunderstood.

people are making shallow judgments without truly understanding or going deeper into the material.

  2. The secret is just another way of reassuring people that they can control their lives. However there is no such thing as control when it pertains to outside forces. The idea that you can get everything in life you want by merely thinking that you want it is preposterous. Better to work hard to achieve your goals and desires.

  3. The greatest thing I walked away with after reading "The Secret" was how to rid my life of negativity.  I stopped talking to myself with negative words.   I only used positive words, and I was so hopeful. By changing my mind set, it SET ME FREE!

Then, once this changed for me, so many other positive changes took place.  I started to be thankful and appreciative for all that I do have in this world.  I am so much more expressive in my writing, and I have a desire to want to help people change their lives, just as mine has changed in the last year.  I also found that inner happiness that was hidden for so long.  I am so happy, and my attitude show it everyday.

I have recommended this book to many people. But it is true, you have to be open minded and want to change things in your life for it to work.

    Thanks for reading!

  4. I have seen reviews of this book and looked at it some at bookstores. It is nonsense. An author refused to have his book in Oprah's Book Club, and so would I, since she recommends such trash as this. The Law of Attraction is little different from a kid believing wishes come true. In physics, the law is opposite to what Rhonda Byrne says.

  5. It did give me more faith.  I watched the movie and found it to be quite intriguing, until I realized what the overall picture was.  This 'secret' is a direct conflict with God.  If one has the power to shape their own lives, what is the point of believing in God?  God's empowering influence in our lives can easily be misconstrued with the knowledge of this so-called secret.

That is why it is so dangerous.  Yes it is useful, but be careful not to put your faith in it.

It is not that hard for someone to want something to happen, but you have to know the difference between the impossible and the probable.  This isn't really a secret at all, but a matter of willpower.

  6. Yeah it's worked for me numerous of times.I believe its real and it actually works just try it.

  7. The Secret is easily misunderstood.  Take the first answer to this question, in which the writer says "The idea that you can get everything in life you want by merely thinking that you want it is preposterous."  Yes, of course it is, but that's not what The Secret is about.  Because what does it take to maintain the thought of what one wants in pure form (without the presence of conflicting thoughts) for the necessary amount of time?  It takes a strong desire, a desire that is aligned with who one really is, one's fully expanded self.  So the technique is about learning what one really wants, using one's emotions as a guidance system.

Our experiences in this life have enlarged us, made us more than we were when we were born.  But most of us have shrunk back from that enlarged person that we are.  We don't let it be.  The Secret is about aligning yourself with that enlarged person that you already are.  You do that through tuning in to your emotional guidance system, because when what you're focusing on is in alignment with who you really are, you feel good; when it's not, you don't.  So if you learn to little by little shift your attention in the moment to what produces your feeling good, your learn what it is you really want, and then you can hold the thought of that in your mind and the universe matches your powerful thought.

You can also say that this is bringing yourself into alignment with God's will, because the desire of your real self is in alignment with God's will.  So this is not against God as someone said.
