ok, so I watched the movie "the secret" and at irst i thought it was BS, but i said I was gunna try it. So i began trying it with little things, and so did my husband. And it has been working 90% of the time. Like today at work, my boss gave me $20 at the end of the day and went to leave, I looked at him and thought to myself that he wanted to give me another $10. He kept stopping in his path and looking back at me, and then he left. So i just went back to working, then about 10 mins later he came back and gave me $10. Do you think it worked?

  1. ahh, the naysayers

until you understand the difference in "thinking" and holding a vision you will not understand "The Secret"...what you do  not realize is it is working in your life right now and will whether you understood or not. It is like the law of gravity..you may deny it, not believe it, but when you jump off a 10 story building the law works each and every time

  2. Yes/ It's amazing how our thoughts manifest things into our lives.  I knew that the law of attraction was real when I asked the universe for money, and mysteriously that week my school sent me a check for $75 with no explanation..

I reccomend reading The Law Of Attraction, by Ester and Jerry Hicks and The Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer.

  3. Too bad the secret doesn't work for AIDS sufferers, terminal cancer patients, wheelchair patients, starving Ethiopians, single moms who can't make ends meet, etc.

  4. bullshit. i've thought about good stuff happening and it didn't. in fact, many times the good stuff happens after i dont want it anymore... and the more i want something the more it doesn't happen. it's weird.

  5. Calling the Secret pseudoscience is being generous.  It's more accurately described as magical thinking.  If it works then the world would be a perfect place.  If the victims in Darfur just *wished* hard enough and held onto the power of thought then they would be bathing in milk and honey right now.

The principle is that if you just reach out with your thoughts you will soon have that you desire.  Well, if you want something you're going to do what you can to get it aren't you?  There's no secret about that.

Those who are unfortunate enough to believe in this nonsense will simply remember those times they got what they wanted (and which they probably would have without the magic of the Secret) and forget those things they failed to receive.  Or perhaps they didn't receive them because they just weren't wishing hard enough.  It's a fail-safe system of thought.

The Secret has worked for only one person--the one who is making all of the money off the sales.  Oprah, Ellen and all of the others should be ashamed of themselves for pushing this garbage.

  6. No, "The Secret" is more feel-good nonsense couched in bad science and pseudoscience. The "laws" by which it is supposed to work are absurd when you think about them at any length. It's great that you're doing really well at work, but you just encountered a coincidence, and they happen all the time.

A really good short review of "The Secret" is linked below. A favorite quote from the review: " 'The only reason any person does not have enough money is because they are blocking money from coming to them with their thoughts,' we are told. d**n those poor Kenyans. If only they weren't such pessimistic sourpusses."

  7. The secret works for those who hold the vision.

Random, 1 offs, and changing the mind, or over-riding your thoughts, will not "help" it to work.

The secret works, when you use discipline and hold the vision.

There is also your own lessons to take into account.

So you may want something to happen in your life, and sometimes we are "shown" why that can not take hold at this time.

Also, the secret will not infringe on anybodies free will.  So you can not ask for something that is about someone else. eg I want this person to do .........

It is very effective if you know how to word what you want manifested and work honourably with it.

The secret works for the betterment of mankind.

  8. If it is true, you'd think someone would wish for peace in Iraq, or an end to terrorism. After all, they say that it's power is limitless. It's all rubbish. Good and bad things happen to people all the time, through luck, hard work, misfortune, etc etc.

  9. no, the secret is another in a long line of money-making schemes that take advantage of desperate people by giving them a get rich quick scheme.

i'm not saying that we don't create our own reality. i'm not saying that what you expect and project can't influence your experience.

but i object when they turn it around and blame people for being poor or for being in other unfortunate circumstances. blaming people for getting sick is hateful and superficial.

  10. The "secret" was never really secret. You hear it everyday. Think positive.

Growing up Wiccan it was ingrained in me even as a toddler that you can have anything you want as long as you believe and meditate and let the universe Know what you want.

I'm sure you have heard  if you are having a bad day never ask what else can go wrong. Same principal. It works for us all we just don't realize it and yes it has worked for me.

And people do wish for peace in Iraq but just as many people want war. For something that large, alot of people need to be on the same page with minimal opposition.

  11. I PERSONALLY KNOW THE PRINCIPLE OF THE SECRET WORKED FOR ME.

AS A A STUDENT I DROVE A P.O.S  TOYOTA CARGO VAN, IT WAS RUSTY AND HAD GIVEN ME MANY PROBLEMS.

NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE SECRET BEFORE, I CUT OUT A PICTURE OF THE CAR I REALLY WANTED TO BE EVENTUALLY DRIVING.

YEARS LATER I WAS DRIVING THIS VERY MODEL CAR, EVEN IN THE COLOR I HAD POSTED IN FRONT OF MY DESK, AND LOOKED AT OFTEN AND THOUGHT ABOUT FREQUENTLY.

I KNOW PERSONALLY THIS PRINCIPLE WORKS.

  12. Spend your money on lottery tickets. I wish I had.
