  1. The problem is not finding the water.

    It's generating the energy needed to turn H2O into H2.

    Then the car can burn the H2 and turn it back into H2O.


  2. Well I disagree with the above answer. I have made hydrogen at home by just sticking two pencil leads connected to a 12 volt power supply in tap water mixed with baking soda. And when I tried that with distilled water it didn't work because pure distilled water does not conduct electricity. So I don't see why you can't use rain water.

  3. Hydrogen generators require ultra purified water.  There must be no impurities in the water.  Therefore, rainwater cannot be used directly.  Indirectly, rainwater is used because it fills the reservoirs that they pull the water from to distill.

  4. Yes rain water, distilled, pure water, tape water, salt water, all work.
