Question:

Has someone already thought up this theory or not?

I just thought of it, while i was sort of asleep. For some reason while i'm asleep i can think clearly. here it is: Think of a black hole as a hole in a (big) balloon. Slowly but surely the air comes out of the balloon (the air inside the balloon is space) except a hole is stationary and a black hole has the ability to move around and suck anything in its path (since aparently space is infinite). So why not think of a black hole as a doorway to an outer-shell of the universe (after It sucks you in, but it then blows you outside the universe). taking you to a sort of "Outerverse" (made it up).

But theres also this, since a black hole is so massive, it actually destroys anything it sucks in.

  1. That little snag of being completely plasmized as you get sucked in, is somewhat of a deterrent.

People have theorized things like this before.  That's where the notion of "white holes" came from.  But even theoretically, there is no reason to believe that a black hole is anything but a concentrated mass which is pulled to a center.  There isn't anything like another side or mirror universe.  There's only an incredibly dense mass.  At least that's all we have reason to believe.

As a theory, I feel white holes fall into the category of pseudoscience which passes as real science because it is 1) proposed by real scientists and 2) someone has come up with some equation which allows it.  The only problem is that these equations and resultant theories seem to yield nothing but recognition for their creators.  I believe astrophysics and cosmology have been flooded with these kinds of essentially idle speculations.  The hypotheses and equations seem to be based on unverified assumptions and are often just pure math without any connection to the physical world at all!  Even the famous "Hawking Radiation" is beginning to look like a myth.

  2. Good thinking. Cool.

  3. That would require a black hole actually going somewhere.  It doesn't - the name is a bit of a misnomer.  It's just a dense, dead star - everything that falls 'into' it just gets crushed down and becomes part of that black hole.  It's not an actual hole in space.  But a white hole (not yet shown to exist) might be closer to what you're thinking of.

  4. stop stop stop, the black hole is a giant red sun that died. It's enormous pressure sucks everything in, even light but it doesn't mean it will get out of there. it's stuck inside it.

  5. I think of a black hole as a region where time has stopped. If you could survive entering a black hole you would instantly be takken back to the moment when the black hole was formed.

I don't think I really understand what you are trying to say.

  6. Actually, you're not very far away from a well-known theory.
