  1. i think so ,, bad sportmanship,,,,the tri nations has been around for years   ,,, but all teams want the world cup   ... so go all blacks

  2. Not at all,

they have already measured thier side against NZ and AUS now they need to work on fitness and strategy before the world cup.

It makes a lot of sense Tri nations is a tiny regional rugby tournament compared to the the world cup

  3. A B grade team? ha so how bad is the Aussie for loosing against a b grade team and didn't NZ battled against our b grade team?

no it is tactic the world cup means more to us than the tri-nations, what is so wrong in resting your best players and giving your other players the chance to wear the green and gold?

    well done Jake White!

  4. Not even close. They are doing what the All Blacks did at the start of the Super 14 and what France, England, Wales and Ireland did on their June tours. They are resting and conditioning their top players. The players that are being rested have been playing top class rugby since February, mostly without a break.

  5. they just know that they are going to get beaten and want an excuse!!!!! i will be suprised if they do any good

  6. call the WAMBULANCE!!!!

I think they should play netball, or tag.

seriously, its the right thing to do, because they might break a nai.

    No respect, limited talent.

  7. They are doing what is necessary in order to win the World Cup and more luck to them for having the foresight and guts to do so.

  8. no they haven't.

  9. I think most people have strayed off the focus of your question here. Although i believe what Sth Africa is doing is of benefit to their world cup chances, i also believe they have devalued the integrity of the tri-nations by withdrawing their top players, losing the respect of their Sanzar counterparts. Granted, other nations have rested internationals, notably the all blacks from the first 7 rounds of the super14 and the recent visiting northern hemisphere nations. But, the All Blacks rested 22 players across 5 teams, gave ample notice of their intentions and still managed to produce 2 semi finalists. The Sth African team have chosen to spring this plan on the world in their interim week before travelling, after hosting packed houses against full strength opposition at home. The Northern hemisphere teams had also made clear their intentions, which was accepted given the lesser importance placed on these mistimed tests. The tri-nations is not a small insignificant regional tournament as one other put it, but it is the flagship tournament of the southern hemisphere and should be treated as such. I understand there are swaying politics that influence African rugby, but i believe Jake White's lack of notification and sudden execution of his plan midway through the tri-nations has removed the prestige of the tournament, however potentially beneficial it may be for Sth Africa's team. It seems others are paying for their lack of organisation and foresight.
