Has the Christian Church lost its way?

In Mark's Gospel, chapter 11, it says that when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, he went to the Jewish Temple. He became angry at what he saw. There were people selling things there, and money lenders who were cheating poor people. Jesus chased away all the people doing this. Why are the Churches of the America and the UK allowing the politicians to create a den of thieves making money from the poor and taking away homes. Why isn't the church more active.

Not saying the belief in god is corrupt, just the actual church. Just look through history.

Seems to me the Christian church lost its way long ago when they burned people at the stake, tortured and killed innocent people for heresy.

In the USA church and state are supposed to be separate. However, those running for government offices are allowed to pander to the masses on the grounds of religion. Go figure.

Freedom of Speech! And in the western world there is , Democracy!!! However, no one is able to enforce any legal action against these charlatans because they are well organised business ventures.

I cannot understand why there are so many mindless sheep ( rich idiots, wealthy loners and the gullable working class people ) who give money freely and openly to these pseudo-religions and affiliates?

The devil has been attacking churches subtly or not so subtly.  Sometimes it's like the roaring lion that goes about looking for someone to devour.  We are up against incredible odds from all sides and get criticized constantly from those who want to pick on us.  

We need revival in our churches and this has been said a long time.  When that occurs on a large scale things will change.  However, this won't stop the attacks or criticism.  There are many who hate God and anything that resembles God and his will for mankind.

Much of the Christian Church has lost its way.  Most things in Scripture are ignored and all emphasis is placed on using the Bible to revile g*y people and remove our civil rights.  A great example is Sarah Palin's fornicating daughter being called a hero of the pro-life movement for fornicating.  A fornicating teenager is a hero while g*y people are excluded from marriage!

If the churches were to help people who are losing their homes, they would actually have to get involved and spend money according to Christ's commands to help the less fortunate.  They would never obtain power and wealth that way.  It's much more lucrative to scare followers into sending money by reviling g*y people.

Yes it has, which is why there is a Baha'i Faith. Jesus in Revelation 3:12 said when He returns He will have a new name and will give His followers a new name. There are many thousand of examples and thousand of verses of scripture I could quote to support my claims, but some will not accept or even check it out no matter how many verses I quote or how much proof or evidence I supply. The church isn't more active because it has run out of gas.

To answer your question, Jesus was upset because people were defiling the temple by doing these things.

To be perfectly pragmatic, a church that becomes active in civic activities, risks losing it's tax free status. Nevertheless, much is said from within.
