  1. I don't think that they have just my opinion...

  2. omg the government is a joke.

you only know what they show you. that's why we should all just revolt and recreate history :D

  3. It has nothing to do with the city. The Bush administration is good at helping out rich white people. They are good at s******g the poor no matter where they live.

  4. I really do think that they have. Although nothing can ever make up for the suffering that they have had to go through. The main problem is that any funds that have been given to them have been misappropriated, spent on bull-****, and otherwise mis-used.  The "People" are mostly not to blame for this, but they are the victims of it. Many of these people though, also looted quite a bit from the businesses that suffered from the hurricane. Is that taken into account when deciding a hurricane sufferers compensation?

  5. I think it is time those pigs stepped away from the trough.

  6. To even suggest that LA or NY would be given more funding and help is a joke. This is bordering on a troll post.

  7. It is clear aid for New Orleans has not been as forthcoming as aid was for other disasters, such as California in 2007 and New York City in 2001.  There are excuses, but the bottom line is Louisiana is a low-power state (politically) with a medium-size population and relatively few electoral votes.  Having a Democrat governor & mayor during a Republican presidential administration didn't help, but that was not the main problem.

I had a conversation with a journalist from Boston in 2006 about spending the money necessary to rebuild the levee system to a standard sufficient to protect the city in the future (about $14 Billion over a period of years).  He was against it, so I pointed out the fact the federal government spent the same amount ($14 Billion) on a tunnel for commuters under Boston harbor.  His reply was "But Massachusetts is an important state!".  He then ran away due to embarassment.

Much of New Orleans' problem is the rest of the USA thinks NOLA is only about the French Quarter and Jazz.  In reality, a significant portion of America's critical national infrastructure in in or around New Orleans and rebuilding the city is NOT an option.
