  1. Oh, teenagers have always had s*x.  It's nothing new.  Our grandparents, great grandparents, and many times great grandparents were as horny as any junior high class you can name nowadays.  And, yes, many of them had premarital s*x.  It was more dangerous, particularly for the girls, but plenty of people still did it even without reliable birth control and loosening social mores.

What the internet has changed is the access to information that we have nowadays.  Some of it is bad- I personally don't think it's particularly healthy for kids to see the sort of hardcore p**n that is most common.  I don't think they're damaged by seeing s*x; I do think that seeing objectifying, misogynistic, and/or racist images could give them some very wrong ideas, to say nothing of pedophilia, or any of that stuff.  Otherwise, though, I think more information (when the person is ready for it- again, 8 year olds and p**n probably shouldn't coexist) is usually better.  A g*y teen can find support online, a teen with more kinky tastes than usual will learn that s/he is not alone or freaky or wrong.  They can find more basic information, about STDs and protection and such.  They can also get their more... interesting questions answered.  Knowing about this stuff doesn't make teenagers more promiscuous, but it can help them to be safe and sane in their explorations.

  2. The internet, media, music...u name it. They're geared toward the adolescent male fantasy. And girls see this stuff and feel that is how they need to act to keep up with things
