Has the JGR juggernaut replaced the HMS juggernaut?

Seems like Wild Thing is like Jimmie was last year, no one can catch him. What is Gibb's secret (besides Kyle's talent)?

  1. Once Penske switches his vision on Nascar and not IRL they will be the "Juggernaut" of Nascar! If not, then my name is not Kurt Busch!

  2. First of all I think Busch is trying to show off HMS for dumping him in favor of Junior and it's working for him.. so far. Even in his driver interviews and radio chatter during the race he mentions Jr which leads me to believe that all he is doing is showing HMS the type of talent they let go. Secondly, Toyota is making tons of horsepower and in fact its rumored they are making 20-30 more HP than all the other car makes. While it will take some type once HMS, RCR and Roush figure out what Gibbs is doing with their engines it should level the playing field.

  3. No, Kyle Busch is just on a hot streak right now. The rest of the Gibbs team is'nt doing that great. Watch out for Roush-Fenway they will be a huge factor this year in many upcoming races. Busch's early dominance won't last.

  4. well, as an avid nascar fan, i really think hendrick is a more well rounded team, with junior, jimmie, and jeff (even though he's a q***r) but rowdy busch and my personal favorite denny hamlin are rising stars, but in my opinion as of right now, i'd go with hendrick.

  5. At the moment it appears that way.

The conspiracy theorists would have us believe that the down slide of HMS is due to either Jr. disrupting the team, or getting all of the good equipment. (LOL)

In reality, Hendrick will be knocking on the door very soon.

  6. I doubt it. I seriously think all teams have their ups and downs. The real good teams survive and improve as with both these teams you have mentioned. Toyota has big bucks and deep pockets.

As for Jeff being g*y? Thats such a bunch of c**p! Same has been said about Jr and every other driver someone can't stand. Get real fool....

HMS will bounce back and soon, so will RCR. The only big question mark is Petty Enterprizes and Wood Bros. It would be nice to them back and competitive.

  7. At the moment yes.....But look out once the Hendrick guys get their stuff to gether....It will be "They're Back". I'm not worried.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  8. Nope..not a chance.  If you are basing this on wins...then you have to figure Carl Edwards into the picture.  And he's in a Ford.  Last year at this point, Hendrick drivers were winning just about everything.  Even when it wasn't Jeff and Jimmie it was Busch (Bristol) and Mears (Charlotte).

Last year obviously I hated HMS but it was still obvious they were the dominate team.  Toyota was so embarrassed last year that they outworked everyone on the offseason and it's paying off.  But the other teams aren't too far behind.

At this very point last season, Gordon was up on 2nd by some 230 odd points, this year?  Busch up by only 70-some on 2nd and 130-some on third.  Last year Gordon over 3rd by 299.  BIG difference.

  9. they use torsion bars instead of stabilizer bars

  10. not really, they just got the jump on them with all that foreign Toyota money,,,others will catch up shortly.......Nascar will figure out how the Toyota's have more HP soon and level it out..

No bashing here, just telling like it is

Thanks for the thumbs down.....maybe i should not answer any questions but rather just rate all thumbs to u..lol

  11. a juggerwhat?  what did you call JGR? are you making fun of us?

    ;-)

seriously, i'd say yes, for the moment.  and i think it was more than just "kyle's talent."  other factors: better teamwork, toyota, "the coach" returning, camaraderie and "coopetition" amongst the drivers (and crew chiefs and crews). kyle's success (and infamy) might have brought in more excitement, but don't forget that tony is jgr's rock, and always brings "more" to the table.

EDIT: toddtq below, what do you mean the rest of jgr isn't doing that well?  what would you call 4th and 8th in the points, not to mention being THE dominators in nationwide...

  12. Kyle is the only one really dominating the Cup series from JGR. Hamlin has a good run now and then, and Stewart has been a consistent top ten runner, but Busch is the one leading laps and winning races. The Nationwide series is a whole different ballgame. JGR owns that series right now with Stewart and Busch both bulldozing the competition. Gibbs' secret is not much of a secret - Toyota. They were good as a 3rd ranked Chevy team, now they are Toyota's #1 focus.

  13. Not really, I still think that HMS is the team to beat.  The reality is that everyone wasnt chasing Jimmy last year though, they were chasing Jeff.  It wont be long before HMS goes on its usual terror.

I dont know how many folks know this, but Toyota is producing more power this year, roughly about 30 more horses than the Chevy's.  Once Hendrick, RCR/DEI figures out how to up the horses, it'll be on.

  14. NASCAR is a cyclical sport.   Remember when Roush was winning all the races, and got all 5 of his drivers into the Chase?   Then it was all about Hendrick.  Now it's Gibbs.

Talk to me next year, and another team might take over.
