Has the NHLHD Channel gotten you in the doghouse?

Question

Long story short. I will be married a year next week (my first) and waited 33 years before doing so. Anyways, local cable rally doesnt have that many hockey games on (other than that horrid versus)

Last week I decided to take Verizon up on the internet/cable/phone deal and now have Direct TV. Well, DT had NHLHD Channel and since getting so it's on the TV CONSTANTLY. Well, my wife (being a Texan) really isnt a hockey fan and this channel is about to put me on the couch.

Anyone else have this problem?

I tell her "babydoll. you just don't understand this hockey thing for which I have an addiction", but I still get that thousand yard stare.

Not with Hockey recently, but the other night my girlfriend and I were getting "friendly" and A-Rod hit a home run.... She caught the fist pump and promptly put a stop to our fun.

Try taking her to a game if that's an option; when I lived in the US I did this on a couple dates; when they see the game in person it's like something happens (in a good way); they get the energy of the game, the excitement...and then hopefully you can find peace among watching games in HD (which is my big wish for 2009).  I mean, if she's a Texan she should love the fast pace of the game, the contact, and the team-first mentality.

Me not being married I don't have this problem but the girl I am dating is as huge a hockey fan as I am so no problems there either.You can say to her nicely"Honey,you have the Lifetime network and I have the NHL network"OR "Honey would you rather I was addicted to the Playboy Channel?"if those don't work,flowers and chocolate is always the way to go.

yes i have that problem too, i'm always watching the nhl network its like the only thing i've been watching all summer. i have an addiction to hockey too so don't feel bad, because i think alot of people have an addiction lol.
