I have 2 uncirculated $1.00 coins, stamped with the date 2000 and was wondering if they are worth only a dollar, or if they are collectible.

  1. no.

  2. The dollar coins that you received are legal tender and are only worth a dollar. Sounds like you may have the Sacagawea dollar, and they stopped  minting those coins in 2001 but have enough in inventory.

There has been talk about replacing the dollar bill with coins for many years but it has been difficult since people don't want to carry change in their pockets and purse. The government is still using and printing paper bills.

Currently, the Mint is creating a new set of dollar coins called the Presidential Dollar.

Hopefully that answers your question. If not, I tried!

  3. Sorry they are only worth a dollar each, they are not rare and are in general circulation (usually in vending machines for change).

  4. no they have not converted all of there bills into coins
