Scientists are estimating that the one Valcano put out 100 times more pollutants and greenhouse gasses than the entire human race since the invention of the automobile. What Ideas do the proponents of global warming have to combat this terrible human caused valcano eruption and the damage it has done? And what blame does the US hold for this eruption?

  1. No,  this idea of lumping natural disasters in with climate is quite silly.   It frustrates me and I want to throw up my hands in bewilderment.   It is like this topic has enertia and is being fed by teachers who are not smart to get the larger picture,  that weather is infinitely more complicated that greenhouse effects and manmade pollution.

  2. And what scientific study would that be?

  3. Everyday, the US dumps as much CO2 into the athmosphers as that volcano emitted. Our carbon emission is like having a Mt. St. Helens eruption every day of the year.

The US holds quite a bit of 'blame'.  First, for the amount of CO2 we emit and secondly, for failing as world leaders, to develop better technology.

But China, Mexico and India are taking over as the worst polluters with their coal fired plants.

  4. Your information is wrong, as is usually the case when a person cites "scientists" and then doesn't provide a source reference.

"Present-day carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from subaerial and submarine volcanoes are uncertain at the present time. Gerlach (1991) estimated a total global release of 3-4 x 10E12 mol/yr from volcanoes. This is a conservative estimate. Man-made (anthropogenic) CO2 emissions overwhelm this estimate by at least 150 times."

  5. No, only Bush takes the blame. And I don't care what you say! Al Gore is my hero and he says its true so it is!!!!!!

  6. What scientists said that? Bullshit. Human related emissions are at least 100 times larger than all the volcanoes and natural sources combined. But thats ok, there is not such thing as man-made global warming.

The volcano in Chile might actually cool the earth with its ashes.

  7. the volcano is just mother earth clearing its throat, and no politician or theologian can take credit or blame for what is happening in chili.  this mountain is only one of several hundred that are doing the same thing at any given time, the rest just didn`t make it to the front page of the daily fish wrapper...as for the theory of global warming..like scrooge said bah..humbug..when its over its over and everything will calm down again, the press will find something else to sweat about

  8. Yes!  now we can all give up on global warming and wait for us all be buried under water

  9. I don't have any control over my genetic makeup, but it affects my life each and every day.

Likewise, we have no control over the volcanoes of the world, but we can and should control how our activities impact the resources that provide for our daily existence.  That's just common sense and sense of stewardship.

I don't play the blame game, I don't begrudge the skeptics their right to dismiss what I feel is substantive evidence.  I'm working on reducing my own carbon footprint, I'm striving to become better educated so I can be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

We make choices in life.  I choose to play it safe so my grandson can enjoy what life has to offer.

  10. Global Warming is a scam propagated by the Left & Gore.
