Has the Welsh Open always been played in Newport?

Since the tournament’s inaugural season in 1992, the Welsh Open has been contested at the Newport Centre for most of those years. However, for a brief six-year period between 1999 and 2005, the rankings event was played at Cardiff International Arena in the country’s capital city. It has since been played back in Newport.
