  1. More like a dating section, people bullying as a way of attracting attention from the women. Most of the questions seem to pertain to another category. Where are the Gender Studies questions? I find so few of them.

  2. An extension?  No.  Is there considerable overlap between GWS and S&D topics?  Yes, most definitely.

A huge problem with Singles & Dating is that the dominant demographic consists of middle school and high school kids who ask lame questions, give lamer answers, and do so with half-literate text message-speak.  Single adults who seek help with relationships (or lack thereof) are ill-served by the poor signal-to-noise ratio.

Since many of the dating problems in the U.S. stem from the Battle of the Sexes, GWS is probably as good an alternative as any at Y!A to S&D.  The results aren't much better for the questioner, especially for a guy asking questions at a forum dominated by feminists, but at least the answers are more literate and "grown-up".

I believe that Singles & Dating should be split into two forums, one for the 13-20 age group and the other for 21+.  That may help.

  3. yes you will find a few of the top contributers have crawled out from under their rocks to take up residence

  4. I might ask the same: why? Who has tried to date whom?

  5. There must be simmering sexual tension for some posters here.  The whole gender issue brings out the raw emotion to want to reproduce.

  6. No. We just have a few anomalies here and there.
