  1. No one will ever know what is really true,it is just whatever people believe in.

  2. Yeah as usual.

Something as trivial as a mere film (which openly declares itself as fiction) makes the church quiver in it's boots.

Religion is so fragile in a modern free thinking society.

  3. The Catholic Church appears to be concerned whenever criticism is levelled at it in any way, even if the topic is a fantasy. Perhaps it is because there is no proof to substantiate the establishment of the Church for it is based on historical writings and has been run for centuries by men who have a personal interest in its survival. There are so many variations on religious themes but there  does appear to be God in whom many believe.

  4. Like its their highest priority to protect themselves from a movie. Yep, the Church has reordered their priorities, and public enemy #1 is Angels & Demons.

  5. Not just the church but the general public.

I think the lowest point happened the other day with the uproar over Sharon Stone.Who gives a rats hindend what she has to say?

  6. Yeah, it's just a film - a sh*t film and if they asked if they could film on my property I'd tell them to get lost as well.  Why should they help someone who's trying to tell lies about them?

  7. In a poll conducted recently in  American colleges, it was discovered that about 70% of the respondents believed that the US won the Vietnam war. This was due to many factors, but the main one being that all Vietnam era movies showed the US as winning the war. And that's what they believed. Who reads anymore? Certainly not students!!

The Da Vinci code despite being fiction caused consternation amongst many Catholics, and its distortion of the Opus Dei was insulting to many who felt it was over the top.

I found the book badly written and the movie awful and the fundamental  idea (hardly original since it was ripped off) pedestrian to say the least.

But as many know, the Catholic church "sells" any movie,

especially one that purports to 'reveal' something.

As someone who is not Opus Dei or a very orthodox Catholic either, I would nevertheless resent the use of some

beautiful Roman churches as  backdrops for some movie

that would brazenly insult the religious sensitivities of simple believers.

Try and see if you could get permission to do the same with the Ka'aba at Mecca, and you'll get my point.

  8. Big shocker, a religious organisation overreacts at something which 'affronts' its delicate sensibilities. Excuse me a moment while I act all surprised.

At least they haven't called for a holy war against Dan Brown unlike some would! ;D

  9. Not really.Yes it is only a film but one that they disagree with so why would they help them out? That would make even less sense.

  10. This is the Henry Ford method of religion -

You can have any ideas you want as long as they are the same as mine.

  11. yes

  12. No they have  not, de vinci code, is meant to distort weak minds into  taking their views,  lies about the real true, really only a very sick minded person would even give that film a second thought, other than to think of it as pure trash and is  satanic.  Christians knows this  and myself,   I think is is the biggest bunch of bs I have heard of in a long time.
