In light over the fracas in Westminster, over campaign funding, mp;s claims and expenses, air miles and jobs for the family, is there no transparency?

  1. In actuality it has never been in politics, honesty and integrity, but what has been in politics for sure is corruption, open and wide corruption.

  2. I think there may have been, years ago, but sadly, not now

  3. It was never there...they just did a better job of hiding it is all....

  4. If there was ever honesty and integrity in politics it is long gone.

  5. truth and ellis above me are correct.  honesty and integrity are the antithesis of politics.  politics is a game of manouevres, and the best players are the ones who can manipulate, subtly or overtly, in secret and in public for their own ends.

now, when this labour government was elected in 1997, they promised us transparency...  good.  and to a certain extent, we are getting it now.  it is no surprise, therefore, that MP's are being found out right, left and centre having manipulated and manouevred the rules to allow them whichever special dispensation it was they were after.

this has been going on for centuries but it's only now, we are being allowed to see it, or should i say they are being forced to reveal it.

power in itself is a corrupting influence, so we shouldn't be too surprised if these revelations continue apace, and on a personal note, i find it amusing to think of all our other elected representatives now sweating over who's gonna be found out next.
