I think it is potentially really dangerous and really sad for teams that don't have the vast financial muscle.
It is great that we can now afford the very best from abroad but is it a case of having too much of a good thing?
I mean, Bolton, for example, have spent the best part of £25 Million this summer, 8 years ago a team who spent this kind of money would be looking at challenging at the top rather than avoiding relegation!! West Brom have spent that kind of money too!
I know the game is changing but is it for the best when you think of the long-term implications? Forget the 'big 4' Because financially clubs like Villa, Man City etc can now compete with these teams, But what about teams that can't? Eventually there will be 20 clubs owned by billionaires and lower league clubs won't stand a chance. If the Premier League was what is is now, Teams like Hull, Wigan and Stoke(whom were all in the 3rd division or lower only 7 years ago) would never of had a chance of establishing themselves.
What do you make of this?
I know it is a long, complicated arguement but please try and shed some light on it!
Thanks
