  1. Yes, she has. She gave an honorary knighthood to Ronald Reagan, of all people! Thank God he's not allowed to use it!

Plenty of Australians have received knighthoods, such as Sir James Killen and Sir Paul Hasluck. Governors-general in Australia usually receive a knighthood.

If a knighthood is bestowed on someone who is not a member of the Commonwealth, they are not allowed to use the honorific 'Sir'.

  2. Do you mean when she is in the UK but the person is from outside the UK?

One of the first people she knighted and was from outside the UK was the New Zealander [Sir] Edmond Hilary, the first person to climb Mt Everest.

  3. Sir Ronald Reagan.

  4. i know bill gates was knighted. n is salman rushdie a brit?

  5. Ronald Reagan is one person she knighted.

  6. Bob Geldof and Bono, both from Southern Ireland, if they come from outside uk they are Honorary Knighthoods

  7. Schwarzkof received his knighthood in Florida.

  8. Bill Gates, of the USA, was recently knighted.

  9. Yes Colin Powell for one. American.

On December 15, 1993, he was made an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

  10. Do you mean has she ever knighted a person who lived outside the U.K? or If she ever physically knighted someone outside the U.k?

  11. Official knighthoods are only bestowed on subjects of the United Kingdom or other Commonwealth countries (such as Canada or Australia).  Since they aren't restricted to British citizens, there are dozens (if not hundreds) who have received such honors.

Those from other countries may be awarded honorary knighthoods.
