Has the statement 'made in China' made you not purchase the item?

This maybe just me, but if I see 'Made in England' I am more willing to part with my cash (down to quality) than if a 'Made in China' is found. Is this the same for you?

  1. If its made in China I don't buy it.  I refuse to support child labor.

  2. No. I think you get good and you get bad products regardless of country of origin

  3. Seeing "Made in China" hasn't actually stopped me buying anything but after recent documentaries we've had on tv in the UK it does momentarily make me think for a moment and wonder about child and slave labour but by the time you see something like "made in china" I think I'm too far down the road of being committed to making the purchase or more likely already made it.

  4. No, buying foreign is buying foreign...nothing to do with which foreign or if they speak my language or not. Nothing wrong with the chinese and they've got some nifty little trinkets they come out with.

  5. yes, becase there make as good as any if there made in the USA

  6. If that's what you really want.

  7. Well this chap tried to sell me an old jug. Said it was made in China and was something called Ming dynasty, Told him he was having a laugh, It was more likely "bling" and Dynasty hasn't been on TV for ages.

  8. absolutely, if i see "Made In England,USA,GERMANY,EU" I would be more likely to buy because i know the product was made by someone who is not being exploited, therefore cares about the quality of their work. I feel positive about made in Korea , and Japan as well. Made in China is just associated disproportionate profit versus cost to consumer, with underpaid, dangerous work conditions, disregard to intellectual rigths, and poor quality.

for example, i used to buy Dr. Martens boots for my work , they would last for years, but once production left England for China, the quality is abysmal, i now buy either USA redwings or Australian Diamondback boots.

  9. Nope.  To be honest I don't tend to look where a product is made.  Not even on food.
