  1. Yes, went to buy a baby gift for a friend, was pounced on by pushy saleslady who followed me around, yelling at the top of her voice "this is great or this is new etc" finally managed to escape outside and saw the ad for new staff - not suprised, the 2 assistants in the store looked shell-shocked. Never going back there!

  2. A few years ago I had a favourite shop I would visit every time I went to the shops. Then the shop changed hands and the first time I went there after the new owner took over she watched me like I was going to steal something the whole time so I never went to that shop again.

  3. at maidenform the girls there were so standoffish and had this "better than thou" attitude and it made me never go their again. the first time I went there, I kept waiting for a dressing room, I stood right by the register and the two girls kept ignoring me even when they had a chance to walk 5 feet and unlock a room, finally the only way I got one was when I ran over to one that someone else was coming out of! my friend went there once and asked for a certain type of underwear and got looks like she had 2 heards.

  4. Definitely. I don't like it when a sales person runs down the competition. To me they are being arrogant and I take my business elsewhere.

  5. Well I've stopped shopping at Bath and Body Works because I can't stand the overbearing, pushy salespeople who swoop down on you and never leave you alone the second you set foot in the store. I know they're trained to treat the customer this way, but I can't shop peacefully in there; so they simply won't get my business until they change their pushy sales tactics. A salesperson's attitude can definitely affect my experience. Whether too attentive or ignoring the customer completely, I've seen it all.

  6. No, but the reception and medical assistant staff can affect which doctor I go to.

  7. Absolutely!  There are certain stores I dread going into because I know I'll be harassed by sales people the whole time I'm in there.  The other day for example, I was in Sephora and had THREE different sales people ask me if I needed help.  I politely told all three that I was just replacing my mascara and didn't need any assistance.  Even so, one of them followed me the whole way trying to show me new products and get me to try them.  I had to listen to her little makeup explanations over and over and over, all the while politely telling her I didn't need anything else.  It made me not want to go in there EVER again!!

I worked retail sales in a little boutique once and the store policy was to say hello when customers came in, but not say anything else unless we were asked for assistance.  I wish every store had this policy!!

  8. Absolutely!  I have a vast amount of retail experience so I'm sensitive to the way a sales associate acts around me or treats me.. If the sales people are nice and helpful I will be more apt to shop there more often... I will also leave a courtesy card or let a manager know how GREAT they were!

The same is true of poor customer service- I will most certainly let management know if the service has NOT met my needs....

The rudest sales person I've ever encountered was for a TIME SHARE presentation:  She actually called my husband a "moocher" since we were newlyweds and our previous vacation experiences were with our families BEFORE we were married.... AND that we had gotten a PAID week of vacation as a birthday gift from my parents.... That was totally rude and I called her supervisor AND made a written  complaint with the resort!

    Good luck

  9. im never stepping inside walmart ever again.

i hate when i go to a store n the associate's like "can i help u?! can i help u?! can i help u?!?!" n shes like all hyped up on sugar.  i just leave cuz its way too annoying.

  10. Yes, if they're really pampering or really rude.

Nordstrom rocks in pampering, taking out their time to make you laugh, describe the clothes to you, answer all your questions and are generally excellent w/ customer service.

Best Buy salespeople hate it when you try to return something.  I try to avoid Best Buy.

With people who cling to you in a store, I just think they're trying to make a sale, it's their job, so it doesn't bother me.
