  1. I would assume so.

  2. There is surely some reduction in smog, but a few airplane flights scarcely make a dent in air pollution, so I wouldn't expect any difference to be detectable.

  3. i like this question...i never thought about that.

  4. Less planes flying=less pollution!!!

but they are filling up more planes and added more weight to each plane they are filling, causing more consumption of fuel and increase in polution for those flights.... buts its much less than flying two different planesss.....

  5. I would think so but i dont believe it would be that significant because just imagine all of the other things contributing it.

  6. I'm sure there is, but it isn't going to be enough to measure. Smog is most noticeable in cities, especially cities found in valleys that don't have a lot of atmospheric circulation. Examples are Los Angeles, Mexico City and Phoenix AZ. The largest producers of smog are automobiles. In large cities, ther might be hundreds of thousands of cars running at any moment. Through the course of a day, millions will be driven. That's an amazing amount of exhaust. While aircraft do burn a lot of fuel, they do it in flight, high in the atmosphere, where the exhaust is dissipated. Cars and powerplants have a greater impact on air polution than planes, especially local air polution, so we won't likely notice any drop in polution due to airline cancellations.

  7. It stands to reason there would be less pollution with less flights in the air I imagine.

  8. I doubt it.

Perhaps from less cars driving to/from airport.
