I think people, women especially, have a bad habit of thinking too much about the wedding and not enough about marriage.

it is like christmas... you get all the build up, then when it is over you go "oh"..

post-fun depression... :D happens to most people...

I think marriage is made into such a big deal that you don't realise:-

a - the world does not stop as soon as you get married and things really do carry on like before with the same set of problems, worries, etc

b - you will still meet people you are attracted to and think to yourself 'what have I done'

I don't know many people in marriages who don't think maybe I committed to someone too soon and often they get married because its the thing to do then find perhaps it was not the right person for them or the right thing - not everyone suits marriage even though its the social norm.

no the wedding ceremony is irrelevant to me living together as husband and wife is the best bit of all. every minute gets better if you are with the right one.
