  1. Officially there is no F7 tornado or even an F6 tornado. Fujita developed a scale based upon wind speed and damage. The scale goes all the way up to F12, but Fujita didn't assign damage values to any numbers past 5 because he felt that an F5 would be rare enough and almost inconceivable.

The scale devleoped by Fujita was replaced with the Enhanced Fujita Scale in 2006. The highest rating for a tornado is an EF5. This is defined as wind speeds greater than 200 mph and the ability to destroy man-made houses and damage high rises. The highest recorded wind speed for a tornado is 301 mph with a plus or minus of 20 mph. Under even the old Fujita scale this would be at the top end of the F5 which tops out at 312, although with the margin of error could possibly have tipped over into the wind speed for an F6.

On the old scale an F7 has never been recorded and on the new scale an F7 isn't even possible.
