Yes, one that I know of was Vlad the Impaler's wife ( forgot her name) but anyways she had actually jumped out the window from the castle and of course fell to her death, she did this because the castle was under attack and Vlad had left her inside so he could make his escape, so that's when she ran to the window and jumped out so that the ( I think it was the Greeks army) would not capture her.

More recently, a monarch did commit suicide, although he wasn't a king, in 1918. Adolphus Frederick VI, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, committed suicide and caused a succession crisis.

There were two Grand Duchies of Mecklenburg: Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Mecklenburg-Schwerin. AF VI was the last male of his line who had not renounced, so when he died the two claims combined. There were some morganauts (non dynasts) who later claimed to be recognized, but in 2001 the *other* line died out as well. Technically, the claim to the combined title "Grand Duke of Mecklenburg" goes to George Frederick, Prince of Prussia, who would be German Emperor and King of Prussia.
