Question:

Has there ever been a Sonny Bill Williams situation in the AFL?

Sonny Bill Williams has just taken off to France turning his back on a five year contract with the Bulldogs.

So it got me thinking, has this happened in the AFL? A guy signing for Hawthorn for example and one year later leaving for Carlton for more money.

Fans would be filthy.

  1. not really...

although a couple of years back mal michael was playin 4 lions and 'retired' at the end of the season and then came out of retirement 2 play 4 essendon.. TRAITOR!!!

his contract.. im pretty sure.. wasnt finished but because he 'retired' his contract was allowed to end...

  2. Nah.

No-one outside Oz have ever heard of the AFL!

No, I get the drift of your question......& surely there would be plenty of AFL players leaving one club for another just for more dough. Most AFL players would sell their souls for money.....just look at Chris Judd for example!

  3. AFL in France??? It is an international game after all. Good on ya Andrew.

  4. who the h**l is "sonny bill williams"?

  5. Well not exactly because no one outside Australia besides a few punters for NFL have the need for AFL players. I think that Hawthorn and Carlton one would be called a Judas.(They are rivals right?)
