Has there ever been a state in the US that did not formally ratify the US Constitution?

The states that entered the US after the Constitution had been ratified did not ratify the Constitution as it had previously been ratified.

I dont think so, but there was one state in US history that used to be its own country......Texas

I think that Rhode Island was a state by that time--it didn't send any delegates to the Constitutional Convention, and resisted ratification, but finally was forced to join the others.

Only the 13 original colonies ratified the US constitution. Only 9 of 13 were required for the constitution to be ratified, but eventually all 13 original colonies ended up ratifying the constitution.
