Has there ever been a time when our government wasn't corrupt?

  1. Probably at its inception but then again all governments are "corrupt" !


  2. If you see a list of all the presidents, they are the biggest bunch of cut throats, murders, liars and thieves.

  3. Corrupt From Day 1.  However there were effective checks and balances and honest debate.  Now since the government is ruled by the Executive branch with its  patsies in congress and the Supreme Court,  there are no such checks and balances and corruption goes unchallenged.

  5. All governments have corruption.  The most corrupt tend to be totalitarian socialist governments where the people have no real say so.

    The design of the US government was to keep it small and have each section not tread on the other.  Nowadays we have the Supreme Court rewriting the Constitution instead of following it and thus taking over roles they were never intended to control.

    I'm not sure how to turn it back except to get judges in there who will make rulings based on the Constitution.  

    The original planning was meant to stop corruption and it's worked pretty well for a few hundred years.  I guess nothing last forever.
