  1. not in the same olympiad, but there are some who switch sports. there is a brit this year who competed in another sport before cycling this year, can't remember name though

  2. Well I went into the time machine they hold in area 51 and went to the 2012 games to see myself take gold in every swimming event and I pretty much sharted on Mr. Bolts face in the 100 and 200 meters.

  3. I thought that some USA guys won most track and field sports in 1896.

"The German athlete Carl Schumann finished in the top five events of three different sports"

"On 6 April 1896, James Connolly won the triple jump (then two hops and a jump), and thus became the first Olympic champion in 1527 years. He also placed second in the high jump and third in the long jump."

Robert Garrett medalled in Shot put, discus, long jump and high jump

edit: they didn't actually get bronze medals in 1896 but an olive branch - apparently

    there must be others

  4. i think in the current olympics there is one US female athelete who is taking part in three sports. I remember seeing it on yahoo but can't seem to remember her name.

  5. Hayley Wickenheiser hockey and softball

  6. It has happened only once at one Olympics. In 1896, Australia sent only one athlete to Athens - Teddy Flack. He competed in Track and Field and then in Tennis.

He won gold for both running events and is considered to have recieved Bronze for the Mens doubles tennis. Because his partner was British, that bronze is awarded under the 'Mixed' country.
