  1. Yes, although there is an EF6 tornado, there has never been one recorded yet.

  2. The short answer is "No".

The old "F" scale and the new "EF" scale were both based on damage found after the tornado has passed by.  A level "5" scale tornado is strong enough to just about wipe out just about anything in its path.  So the scale was capped at level 5 and there is no current definition for a level 6.

There is a lot of bad information on the web.  In meteorology, there are three places that I would check if I was not sure of something.  They are:

The World Meteorological Organization - This group is part of the United Nations.

    NOAA-National Weather Service

    The American Meteorological Society.

None of these professional groups have defined what  a level 6 tornado would be.  So the scale used by the international meteorological community is still 0 to 5 and is based on damage found.

  3. No! Tornadoes are rated on a 1 to 5 scale only.

  4. April 8, 1999 Moore Oklahoma is a probable one,a definite one is made by Ford!

  5. There has never been one recorded but if there ever was one it was the Tri State Tornado. This Tornado happened on March 18, 1925, so they didn't track them the way they do now so it may have been an F6.  It was over a mile wide at times (some reports say the damage path was 3 miles wide).  The Tornado started in Missouri, went into Illinois where it did the most damage, then ended in Indiana and was on the ground for 3 and 1/2 hours.
